Samuel Tunde Alao is a passionate and innovative health professional with a great passion for public health. He currently works as a house dental surgeon at the University College Hospital Ibadan, Oyo state, Nigeria. He bagged his Bachelors of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree from the University of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria where he graduated as the best graduating student with over 35 university awards/honors. While earning his undergraduate degree, he was employed and still works as an honorary demonstrator at the Department of Anatomy, University of Ibadan. 

Prior to the commencement of his internship, he worked as both the field supervisor (clinical) and a research assistant in a survey of Household Adult Oral Health in Nigerian slums, a research funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Global Health Research Unit on Improving Health in Slums using UK aid from the UK Government to support global health research. He also enjoys all forms of interaction with people residing in the urban, rural or slum sites through community health and research programs.

Samuel is a public health research enthusiast who is actively searching for opportunities to improve health and ameliorate health disparities among low-income, underserved and underrepresented communities. His interests are in tobacco use and control; chronic diseases epidemiology with a focus on associated link with oral diseases. He has served and led various organizations in different capacities where he learned the principles of followership and leadership.
