Oluwafikayo Adeyemi- Benson, MD, MPH
Executive Director
Oluwafikayo Adeyemi-Benson is a dedicated professional at the forefront of healthcare and global initiatives. As the Executive Director of the Sage and Enamel Foundation (SANDEF), the Benson Adeyemi Foundation (BAF), and the Director of Global Goals at UNA-USA Greater Chicago Area, Oluwafikayo brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his roles.
He obtained his Medical Degree (MD) from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Illinois at Springfield (UIS), and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Community Health and Preventive Medicine from University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign (UIUC). His commitment to education led him to become an adjunct faculty member in UIS’s Public Health Department, where he shares his knowledge by teaching Biostatistics.
Before pursuing his Master’s in Public Health, Oluwafikayo accumulated extensive experience working with various hospitals and community health care centers in Nigeria. He is a dedicated volunteer for community health initiatives, with a particular interest in nutrition, maternal health, and addressing health disparities. He firmly believes in the equal rights of all individuals.
Oluwafikayo’s professional journey includes valuable contributions at the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Division of Infectious Diseases. In addition to his academic and professional endeavors, Oluwafikayo is an active member of Rotary International and the Mu Delta Lambda chapter of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. His commitment to continuous learning is evident through the numerous certifications he holds, encompassing both medical and non-medical fields of expertise.
