Michelle Haberstroh, MPH

Michelle Haberstroh, MPH, is a dedicated public health advocate and accomplished scholar. She holds a master’s degree in Public Health, a master’s degree in Human Services with a concentration in Child and Family Studies, and a Graduate Certification in Epidemiology, all earned at the University of Illinois Springfield (UIS). Her academic journey began with a Magna Cum Laude bachelor’s degree in Communication from UIS, where she was also part of the Capitol Scholars Honors Program.
Michelle’s passion for public health led her to take on leadership roles, including serving as President of the Public Health Student Association at UIS. She has presented her research on childhood lead exposure in homes at the Student, Technology, Arts, and Research Symposium, highlighting her commitment to addressing pressing public health issues.
As an active member of the American Public Health Association (APHA), Michelle currently chairs the membership committee for the Physical Activity (PA) section. Her previous involvement included serving as the communication and membership student liaison for the student committee of the APHA PA section.
During her pursuit of graduate degrees, Michelle gained practical experience through internships with the Illinois Small Business Environmental Assistance Program (SBEAP) within the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO), as well as with the Journal of Public Health Management and Practice (JPHMP) Direct. Her diverse experiences and leadership roles reflect her dedication to making a positive impact in the field of public health.
